Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was a student at Lennox's Royal Academy of Music, London in the 70s. She studied the harpsichord as well as the flautist piano for three years. Lennox was able to survive on the stipend of a student, and worked part-time in order to earn a living. Lennox did not feel content with her performance compared with the other students at the Royal Academy and began looking for alternative paths. Lennox was a flute player in the 1976 group called Dragons Playground. The band did not make it to the talent contest New Faces on I.T.V. She sang lead for The Tourists (a British popband) between 1977 and 1980. The band was where she made friends with Dave Stewart and together they formed the duo Eurythmics. Lennox was then able to begin work on her debut solo album Diva that was out around 1992. Commercially and critically it was a huge hit. Nostalgia Lennox's sixth solo record was released in the month of November. The C.D. The C.D. comprises Lennox's favourite blues, jazz, and soul songs from her childhood. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four tracks that she improvised for piano, which Lennox made available in May 2019. The E.P. This album is a companion piece to her album Now I Let you go... art installation which was on display at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The album is her first self-released album. In the following years, Lennox joined her fellow artist Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo musical career in 1992, by releasing the album Diva. It included a number of famous songs like Walking on Broken Glass and Why. Medusa her 1995 studio album has cover versions of songs including No MoreI I Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale.
